This kitchen was reimagined to create a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living, forming the heart of the client’s extensive renovation. The new layout opens effortlessly to a covered entertaining area, with a sleek lap pool defining the edge of the property and enhancing the resort-like atmosphere. The design successfully blends the interior and exterior, creating a harmonious space perfect for both relaxation and entertaining.
Due to structural constraints, the ceiling within the kitchen was designed at a slightly lower height than standard, making smart spatial planning essential. To overcome this challenge, custom cabinetry was extended to the full ceiling height. This ingenious solution maximized storage capacity while simultaneously maintaining a clean, contemporary aesthetic, proving that thoughtful design can transform limitations into unique advantages.
A soft, tonal palette was carefully chosen to create a calm and cohesive backdrop, providing a serene atmosphere for the culinary space. This subtle foundation is elegantly anchored by a striking natural marble benchtop, which serves as a focal point and unifies the diverse materials used throughout the kitchen. The interplay of soft tones and natural stone creates a sophisticated and inviting environment.
The design incorporates a floating thick shelf, which introduces a crucial sense of lightness to the overall composition. This element provides visual balance to the expansive wall of cabinetry, preventing the space from feeling too heavy or enclosed. Additionally, the shelf creates a natural break in the stone splashback, adding visual interest and a touch of modern elegance.
